On 8th August 2021, Sunday at 7.30 pm UAP L&HR Sports Club organized an online fresher’s reception, to welcome the newcomers of the Department of Law and Human Rights, UAP at the Google Meet Platform. The program was hosted by Ananya Mahbub Sanchita, Assistant Public Relations Secretary of the Club, and Maisha Akhter Fatema, Assistant Women Affairs Secretary of the Club. Along with the new students, students from all eight semesters were present at the event.

The event was stated by reciting from holy the Holy Quran, Bhagavad Gita and Tripitaka. The Convener of the UAP L&HR Sports Club, Md Sazzad Hossain, Lecturer of Law welcomes the fresher’s of the Department and the new members of the Club. Dr. Chowdhury Ishrak Ahmed Siddiky, Head of the Department of Law and Human Rights was the Chief Guest. Dr. Siddiky in his speech emphasized the importance of sports in daily life and he appreciated the current actives of the club, especially the online sports competitions during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Ms. Azizur Nahar, Ms. Farjana Aktar and other faculty members of the Department were also presented at the event.

In this event, three former presidents of the UAP L&HR Sports Club, Mizanur Rahman Shakib, Almas Farooqi, and Kauser Ahmed were also present. They shared their previous experiences regarding the club and appreciated its current activities. The current UAP L&HR Sports Club committee members, President Anayet Kabir Bijoy, General Secretary Nasir Uddin and Organizing Secretary Badhan Mollah, along with other club members were the organizers of the event. Shanto Patwary and Fahim Shahriar, Assistant Organizing Secretary; Fahima Hasan Tisha, Media and Publicity Secretary; Roshmit Kundu, Assistant Media and Publicity Secretary Nadeem Mahmud Ashiq, Assistant Public Relations Secretary; Suriya Akter Pinky & Ananya Mahbub Sanchita, Assistant Women Affairs Secretary; Maisha Akhter Fatema, Ibnul Hasan and other Executive Members of the Club were successfully organized the fresher’s reception.

A quiz competition was also organized for the new 1^st Semester students during the event.

The guests of the event encourage all the students along with the fresher’s of the Department to join the club and participate in the upcoming online sports along with the academic studies. They believe sports can keep a student away from drugs and help both in physical and mental development. The UAP L&HR Sports Club is organizing different online sports events like Football, Cricket, Basketball, Chess etc. where all students can able to participate during the Covid-19 pandemic. The event was ended by inviting the students to take the covid-19 vaccine and to follow the instructions of the government in the fight against Covid-19.
